A shooting at a primary school in south Texas claimed the lives of 19 young children and two adults. Before being murdered by law authorities, the shooter opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, which teaches children aged seven to ten.
Investigators said the 18-year-old suspect possessed a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and high-capacity magazines. Before the rampage, the kid is suspected of shooting his grandmother.
He may have been a high school student in the neighborhood, according to local media.
The shooting began at 11:32 a.m. local time on Tuesday, according to Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Chief of Police Pete Arredondo, and police believe the attacker “acted alone during this horrible crime.”

According to the Associated Press, a US Border Patrol agent who was close when the shooting started went into the school and shot and killed the gunman who was hiding behind a barricade.
The Border Patrol is a government agency that protects US entry points. A Border Patrol post is located at Uvalde, which is less than 80 miles from the Mexican border.
During an altercation with the gunman, two border agents were reportedly shot. Officials said one agent was shot in the head, and both are now in stable condition in the hospital.

Political Recognition / Texas shooting
Politicians recognize that this is a crisis that is nearly unique to America, where gun violence has surpassed vehicle accidents as the biggest cause of mortality among adolescents and teenagers. However, politics appears incapable of solving the problem. Deeply ingrained opinions on gun restriction do not alter as a result of tragedies like the one in Uvalde.
“Why do we keep allowing this to happen?” President Biden wondered. “How come we’re willing to put up with this carnage?” Democrats, on the other hand, appear to be no closer to passing stricter gun control legislation. Some Republicans are already accusing them of cynically exploiting the latest school shooting to achieve their own political goals.
